Still on the hunt for an iPhone 3G, we got a few tips to help

Assuming you are set on not just placing your order with AT&T and sitting back to wait for your iPhone 3G to come in, we have a few tricks that may help getting yours from an Apple Store a little easier.

You see, the latest reports are claiming that the online iPhone availability check is actually being updated regularly during the day, of course if you go to that page it will not actually let you check unless its after 9pm.

The new (and very hard to find, we’re told) 3G dock minimizes that problem. Problem is, the 3G doesn’t come with a dock: an apparent cost-saving ploy what helped Apple cut the cost of the new phone in half.

So since the new docks are not only an extra expense, but difficult to get your hands on too, some iPhone users have developed a crafty solution: modify your old dock with the help of a Dremel or old fashioned razor blade. The Dremel will certainly give you a more professional appearance, but if all you want is something that works, a sharp knife will do the trick. Read the rest of this entry …
